Arada’s ‘Akala’ hotel and residential tower in Dubai expands on the design and wellness concept.
Dubai: The Sharjah master-developer Arada is bringing out its first hotel and residential development – in Dubai.
‘Akala’ – which in the ancient Indian language of Sanskrit means ‘beyond time’ – will have a prime location between DIFC and Downtown Dubai.
The twin-tower structure – 220 meters each – is being projected as an end-to-end wellness and healing destination to live or stay.
Sales of the Dh5 billion Akala project starts May 31. Prices start from Dh3.79 million for a one-bedroom apartment, with the sizes from 1,036 square feet.
Dh150 million penthouse
The costliest unit is a sprawling 6-bedroom penthouse, with a price tag of Dh150 million. The size comes to an eye–popping 23,673 square feet.
The area has its share of landmark twin-towers, including the Emirates Towers Jumeirah and the Guinness World Record holder One Za’abeel.
With the Akala twin-tower, Arada is adding to an already substantial presence in Dubai – which includes pricey Armani homes on the Palm Jumeirah.
Arada already has a bulging pipeline of projects in development at various sites in Dubai. There is the Armani residences at Palm Jumeirah, the W Residences at Dubai Harbour, a community-themed one at Jumeirah Golf Estates.
Together, Arada’s development value in Dubai comes to Dh15 billion. Headquartered in Sharjah, it is the promoter of the emirate’s biggest mixed-use development – Aljada. More recently, the developer entered Australia with multi-billion dirham plans.
With Akala, “We are creating a sanctuary that reflects how people want to live today – where peak health, personal performance, and rest are all part of the same experience,” said Prince Khaled bin Alwaleed bin Talal, Executive Vice-Chairman of Arada.
“Akala is designed for the next generation of global citizens who want to live better, happier and longer.”
Lots on and off Sheikh Zayed Road
There is plenty that investors can choose from if their interest is centered on offplan/ready options in and around Sheikh Zayed. The Burj Azizi skyscraper is right there, and, of course, the Trump Tower.
Arada’s Akala adds to the mix quite nicely. “Akala represents the convergence of two powerful global shifts – the rise of wellness as a central life pursuit, and the demand for service-led, lifestyle-driven residential experiences,” said Ahmed Alkhoshaibi, Group CEO of Arada.
“Dubai is the perfect place to launch this concept – and we’re proud to introduce a new kind of brand from the region to the world.”
